Powertrain, Performance, and Charging
The 2020 S90 Recharge Ultimate has a plug-in hybrid powertrain (T8 eAWD) consisting of a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine and a rear-axle electric motor that combine to produce 455 hp and 523 lb.-ft. of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive are the rule, and according to the EPA, the car’s all-electric range is 38 miles. When the gas engine kicks in, it returns an EPA-estimated 28 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. A full charge can be achieved in just five hours using a 240V charger. What’s more, the S90 Recharge is set up with regenerative braking, where the kinetic energy created from braking is captured as electric power and routed to the battery.
Standard Equipment
The S90 Recharge’s exterior features are highlighted by rain-sensing wipers, auto-dimming side mirrors with memory, auto-cleaning headlights, and 20-inch wheels.
