Where Tradition Meets Innovation
The five-seat Volvo V60 Cross Country embraces these qualities wholeheartedly, with adjustments that distinguish it while lending crossover character – for example, a raised ride height that’s 2.3 inches more than the V60 Recharge (which we cover on a separate page). For 2023, the Swedish brand has upgraded the V60 Cross Country with a standard mild-hybrid powerplant for improved fuel economy, completing Volvo's goal of every vehicle in its lineup benefitting from electrification (mild-hybrid, plug-in hybrid, or fully electric). The V60 Cross Country also shows off a refreshed grille this model year, along with a new rear bumper design.

Trims and Powertrain
There are two 2023 V60 Cross Country versions: Plus and Ultimate. Both trims are powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine making 247 horsepower. A mild-hybrid system increases fuel economy and helps to reduce emissions. All-wheel drive comes standard, as does an eight-speed automatic transmission. The V60 Cross Country is EPA-rated for 23 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. It’s excellent for transporting what you need: it can tow up to 2,000 pounds, and it offers up to 60.5 cubic feet of cargo space with the back seat folded flat.
Standard Features
The highlighted features on the exterior of the Plus are proximity keyless entry, a power tailgate, fog lights, power side mirrors with a power-folding feature, rear privacy glass, roof rails, and 18-inch alloy wheels. In the cabin you’ll appreciate the power moonroof, leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated power front seats with power lumbar controls, driver's position memory system, 12-inch digital instrument panel, and auto-dimming mirrors (rearview and side). The Ultimate upgrades to Nappa leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats with power side bolsters and additional lumbar controls, and four-zone automatic climate control. It also has a head-up display, a power driver's-seat cushion extension, a front passenger-seat memory system, driftwood interior trim, an Orrefors crystal gear shift knob, additional dashboard accents, and 19-inch wheels. Both trims can be upgraded with the optional Climate package (heated steering wheel, heated rear outboard seats, and headlight washers).
Advanced Safety Systems
Both V60 Cross Country trims come with forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping assist, oncoming lane mitigation, Pilot Assist semi-autonomous driver support, Park Assist (front, rear, and sides), a surround-view monitor, adaptive cruise control, and a road sign information display. Volvo’s additional standard safety technology includes a multi-airbag occupant protection system, anti-lock brakes (ABS), hill descent control, hill start assist, and vehicle stability control.
Infotainment and Connectivity
Volvo's signature 9-inch portrait-style touchscreen infotainment system is the centerpiece of the interior. It controls a ten-speaker audio system, Apple CarPlay, Google Built-in services, SiriusXM satellite radio, Bluetooth, and access to remote features via the Volvo Cars app. The Ultimate trim gets a 14-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.
