Trims, Powertrain, and Performance
Volvo presents the ’24 V60 Cross Country in a pair of trim packages called Plus and Ultimate. They both have the brand’s B5 mild-hybrid powerplant, which makes 247 hp and 258 lb.-ft. of torque and works with an eight-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is standard. This configuration allows for 2,000 pounds of towing and returns an EPA-estimated 24 mpg in city driving and 31 mpg on the highway.

The entry-level Plus is equipped like a high-echelon vehicle, getting proximity keyless entry, leather
upholstery, heated power-adjustable front seats with driver’s position memory, a power liftgate,
rain-sensing windshield wipers, a panoramic roof, roof rails, dual-zone automatic climate control, a
leatherette-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, a 12-inch digital gauge cluster, an auto-dimming
rearview mirror with HomeLink, ambient interior lighting, fog lights, and wood interior trim.
The
Ultimate earns its name with the best of the best, including Nappa leather upholstery, a genuine crystal
gear selector by Orrefors, a tailored dashboard, and ventilated front seats with power side bolsters and
cushion extension. This elite version of the V60 also has position memory for the front passenger’s
seat, four zones of automatic climate control, a head-up display, side scuff plates, and a 12-volt cargo
area power outlet. Both trims are eligible for the Climate Package, which bundles a heated steering
wheel, heated rear seats, and headlamp washers. Buyers may also add a digital rearview mirror, a
retractable trailer hitch, a luggage cover, and a bumper cover.
Advanced Safety Features
Safety is non-negotiable with Volvo, which is why they’ve outfitted the 2024 V60 Cross Country with a complete array of advanced driving aids. Both trim levels receive blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, reverse collision warning and mitigation, adaptive cruise control with Pilot Assist (which helps to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead), lane keeping assist, oncoming lane mitigation (provides steering assistance back into your lane when veering out into the path of an oncoming vehicle), road sign information, and driver attention monitoring.
Multimedia and Connectivity
A Google built-in infotainment system dominates the dash and brings together compelling components such as Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play Store. It can be managed using the 9-inch touchscreen or voice recognition; the components are Bluetooth hands-free phone and audio streaming, Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, HD Radio, and a multi-speaker audio system. The Ultimate gets a loaded version with a Harman Kardon audio system with 14 speakers and an air-ventilated subwoofer; a 15-speaker Bowers & Wilkins setup is an option for this trim.
