Trims, Powertrain, and Range

The five-passenger 2025 EX30 is made in a pair of trims that Volvo calls Plus and Ultra. Both are equipped with Volvo’s Twin Motor AWD powertrain, which puts out 422 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque. An advanced 69-kWh battery provides an estimated range of up to 253 miles, balancing power with efficiency. Recharging is remarkably convenient: using a standard 120V outlet, a full charge takes approximately eight hours, making it ideal for plugging in to a home charger overnight. At a DC fast charging station, the EX30 can go from 10 to 80 percent charge capacity in a mere 26 minutes, keeping its occupants on the move with minimal downtime.

Standard Features

The EX30 sets a high bar for comfort and convenience by including an array of upscale features on both trims. The interior highlights include premium textile and Nordico upholstery, a tailored sport-style steering wheel, power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a panoramic glass roof. Unique denim-inspired décor and ambient interior lighting add to the cabin's refined aesthetic. Practicality is also at the forefront with features like wireless phone charging, front and rear USB-C ports, a functional second row with a removable storage box, and a power tailgate.

Some of the convenience features in the EX30 include rain-sensing windshield wipers, auto-dimming mirrors (rearview and sideview), a slide-out center console with cupholders, and a 60/40-split flat-folding second-row seatback. A front load compartment provides additional storage for items you use less frequently.

Advanced Safety Features

Safety has always been at the heart of Volvo's philosophy, and the debuting EX30 is no exception. The standard features on both trims are collision avoidance and mitigation, pedestrian and cyclist steering avoidance, front and rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, reverse collision mitigation, and front and rear parking sensors. Beyond that, both trims also get adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, driver attention alert, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, oncoming lane mitigation, post-impact braking, road sign recognition, and run-off road mitigation. The Ultra gets a few more standard safety technologies: low-speed reverse automatic braking, a surround-view camera with a 3D view, Park Pilot Assist (Volvo’s automatic parking system), lane change assist, and Pilot Assist semi-autonomous driving to make long drives less taxing.

Infotainment and Connectivity

Volvo's partnership with Google ensures that the 2025 EX30’s infotainment system is as intuitive as it is sophisticated. In both trims, a free-standing 12.3-inch touchscreen is standard, providing seamless access to Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play Store. They also have Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth hands-free phone connectivity, and a 5G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot. For music lovers who demand crystal-clear sound quality, the ’25 EX30 is equipped with a nine-speaker Harman Kardon audio system with three preset sound modes (Dynamic, Soft, and Voice) and a stylish soundbar.
