2025 Volvo S90 PHEV for Sale or Lease in Natick

2025 Volvo S90 Plug-in Hybrid

Volvo’s full-sized plug-in hybrid sedan is back for the new model year with updated nomenclature and impressive performance capabilities. The Swedish luxury automaker has renamed the S90 Recharge as the S90 T8 AWD Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV), better aligning the name with its powertrain configuration. Plus, the Ultimate trim has been rebranded as the Ultra. This isn’t just any premium sedan, though: all-wheel drive comes standard, and the horsepower output reaches a formidable 455. Despite this level of performance, though, the S90 PHEV maintains a focus on efficiency with a combined fuel economy rating of 29 mpg and up to 38 miles of all-electric range. This overview covers the 2025 S90 T8 AWD Plug-in Hybrid; look for our separate page on the mild-hybrid 2025 S90.

Trims and Powertrain

The 2025 Volvo S90 Plug-In Hybrid is made in trim packages called Plus and Ultra. Under their hood is a satisfying combination: a supercharged and turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and an electric motor, which combine to make 455 horsepower. This potent powerplant, coupled with a standard all-wheel-drivetrain and eight-speed automatic transmission, propels the S90 PHEV from 0 to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds, a feat that rivals the acceleration of the average sports car. The S90 PHEV can travel up to 38 miles on all-electric power, with an EPA-estimated combined fuel economy rating of 29 mpg after the battery has been depleted and the car is operating as a traditional hybrid.

Standard Features

The Plus is a topline luxury vehicle in its own right with leather upholstery, a heated steering wheel, heated power front seats, heated rear outboard seats, headlight cleaners, power-retractable side mirrors, power-folding rear head restraints and seatbacks, a cabin air purifier, an electric cabin heater and cooler (for optimized climate control), power sunshades (rear window and rear side windows), and a hands-free power trunk lid. Its other standard equipment includes proximity keyless entry, a panoramic moonroof, a 12-inch driver information display, quad-zone automatic climate control, and 19-inch alloy wheels.

The Ultra trim takes things to a higher level with Nappa leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, front seats enhanced with power side bolsters and cushion extensions, a front passenger seat memory system, a tailored dashboard and door top panels, an Orrefors crystal gear shift knob, and 20-inch alloy wheels.

Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Technology

Befitting Volvo’s legacy of safety innovation, the 2025 S90 PHEV is equipped with the latest supporting technology. Both trims have forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, cross-traffic alert, oncoming lane mitigation, and rear collision mitigation. The model’s other related standard equipment includes Pilot Assist semi-autonomous driving support, a surround-view monitor, adaptive cruise control, four-side parking sensors, and road sign recognition. There are numerous supplemental safety features, such as multiple airbags, anti-lock brakes, stability control, traction control, hill start assist, and a rearview monitor.

Infotainment and Connectivity

The S90 PHEV's infotainment system is managed through a 9-inch touchscreen. It is integrated with Google Services (Google Assistant, Google Maps, and other popular apps), Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, and SiriusXM satellite radio. The Volvo Cars app is also accessible for remote functions and vehicle monitoring. The Plus delivers audio via a ten-speaker sound system, which is upgraded to a 14-speaker Harman Kardon arrangement in the Ultra.
