2023 Volvo XC40 Recharge Near Boston

2023 Volvo XC40 Recharge
As Volvo’s smallest utility vehicle, the subcompact XC40 crossover fills a niche for drivers who want all-wheel drive, a higher perch above the road, and added capability without more space than they need. But the game really changed last model year when the Swedish automaker adapted this five-seater into an all-electric vehicle, known as the XC40 Recharge.

Unleash the Power of Electric Luxury
For 2023, the XC40 Recharge is refreshed with a new front-end design displaying reshaped headlights, a more integrated grille, and a restyled bumper. New exterior paint colors and wheel options provide enhanced opportunities for drivers to personalize theirs. Volvo has kept the battery-electric powertrain unchanged, ensuring the same zippy acceleration of its initial model year: the XC40 Recharge can reach 60 mph from a standstill in 4.7 seconds. While we’ll concentrate on the all-electric XC40 Recharge on this page, we also have a separate page on the gasoline-powered XC40 mild hybrid.
Trims and Powertrain
Buyers of the 2023 Volvo XC40 Recharge have a choice of three trims: Core, Plus, and Ultimate.
They’re all AWD and have a dual-electric motor system that makes 402 combined horsepower. As
determined by the EPA, the XC40 Recharge has a range of 223 miles and an MPGe (miles per gallon
equivalent) rating of 92 in city driving and 79 on the highway.
Using Level 3/DC fast
charging, this EV’s battery requires 37 minutes to be replenished from 10% to 80%. Home charging via
a 240-volt system typically takes seven to eight hours for a 10% to 90% recharge. The XC40 Recharge
can tow up to 2,000 pounds when it’s properly equipped. It can haul up to 57.5 cubic feet of goods
and gear when the back seat is folded.
Standard Features and Options
All XC40 Recharge trims benefit from extensive comfort and convenience features. Seating for the Core
reflects Microtech upholstery, heated front seats with manual cushion extensions and power lumbar
controls, a power multi-position driver's seat with a driver's memory system, and a manually
adjustable front passenger seat with thigh support. Additional standard equipment for the Core
includes a power tailgate, dual-zone climate control, proximity keyless entry, rear privacy glass, a
12-inch digital instrument panel, power-folding side mirrors, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and
19-inch alloy wheels.
The Plus adds a panoramic moonroof, a pseudo-suede and
Microtech-trimmed interior, fog lights, a foldable cargo floor with a divider, a cargo-area power
outlet, and power-folding rear head restraints. The optional Climate Package (for the Core or Plus)
adds a heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, headlight washers, and a heat pump (for improved
cabin comfort). Everything from the Climate Package plus 20-inch alloy wheels comes on the Ultimate;
Volvo also offers optional wool-blend fabric for this trim.
Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Systems
All XC40 Recharge trims have the latest safety and driver support technologies. This equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, oncoming lane mitigation, blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert, cruise control, road sign recognition, and rear parking sensors. Also standard are multiple airbags, anti-lock brakes (ABS), hill descent control, hill start assist, and a rearview monitor. The Plus and Ultimate get a surround-view monitor and all-side parking assist. Adaptive cruise control and Pilot Assist (Volvo's semi-autonomous driving system) are found exclusively with the Ultimate trim.
Infotainment and Connectivity
The XC40 Recharge's infotainment relies on a 9-inch touchscreen display enhanced with Google Built-In features like Google Maps and Google Assistant. Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, SiriusXM satellite radio, and access to the Volvo Cars smartphone app are also part of the setup. An eight-speaker audio system is standard, while the Ultimate has a 13-speaker Harman Kardon unit.
