Core

The Core has a prominence of upscale features, with the highlights being rain-sensing wipers, roof rails, a power liftgate, a power-adjustable driver’s seat with position memory, a 12-inch digital gauge cluster, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror, synthetic leather wrapping for the steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control, ambient interior lighting, and heated front seats. Its Google built-in infotainment system has a 9-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth hands-free, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a sound system with eight speakers. Volvo also includes these advanced driver-assist technologies: lane keeping assist, oncoming lane mitigation, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, and traffic sign recognition.

There are some a la carte add-ons and optional equipment packages for this trim as well. The Climate Package bundles a heated steering wheel and heated rear seats, while the Convenience Package delivers proximity keyless entry, a power-adjustable front passenger’s seat, and a HomeLink universal garage door opener. Mélange textile-upholstered seats are standard on the Core, but charcoal-colored leather is an option. Some of the individual items that can be ordered include load bars, a tow hitch, mud flaps, a rooftop spoiler, and Polestar powertrain enhancements.

Plus

The Plus has two exterior theme options: Bright (with chrome accents) or Dark (with black accents). Either way, it gets the aforementioned Convenience Package’s components as standard equipment, along with fog lights, a panoramic moonroof, front and rear parking sensors, black exterior accents, aluminum kick plates, front seat-cushion extenders, power-folding rear head restraints, a foldable load floor with a cargo divider and holder for grocery bags, a 12V cargo-area power outlet, and enhanced ambient interior lighting. While suede-trimmed seats are the default, charcoal- or blond-colored leather is available at no extra cost.

Like the Core, the Plus qualifies for the Climate Package. It can also be upgraded with the Driver Assist Package to include a surround-view camera, adaptive cruise control with semi-automated Pilot Assist, and additional parking sensors on the side of the vehicle. A 13-speaker Harman Kardon audio system with an air-ventilated subwoofer is offered separately.

Ultimate

The Ultimate (which is also available with the Bright or Dark exterior theme) gets the Harman Kardon sound system, plus the contents of the Driver Assist Package, charcoal- or blond-colored leather seats, a stainless-steel tailgate scuff plate, and a crystal gear selector made by Orrefors. The Climate Package remains optional, as are unique pixel-design LED headlights.
