The luxury vehicle class is full of enticing choices, but the 2024 Volvo XC60 maintains a special sort of
appeal. Aside from its elegantly simple Scandinavian aesthetic and superb amenities, this elegant
five-passenger powerhouse has a notably athletic edge, something that a lot of today’s buyers regard
highly, along with things like safety and refinement (which the ’24 XC60 also has in abundance).
The newest iteration of this feature-packed crossover brings some changes with it. For one, a
front-wheel drivetrain is no longer offered, making the once-optional all-wheel drive system a standard
feature. Volvo has also revamped the Plus and Ultimate grades with a cabin air purifier, while the
Ultimate alone is bolstered with laminated windows and eligible for new 20-inch wheels. A slick new

Trims, Powertrain, and Fuel Economy
If you’re buying the 2024 XC60, you’ll have a choice of three trims: Core, Plus, and Ultimate. They all have Volvo’s B5 powertrain, consisting of a 247-horsepower (258 lb.-ft. of torque) 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission. As stated by the EPA’s official estimates, each trim returns an estimated 22 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. For all trim levels, towing caps out at 3,500 pounds.
Notable Amenities
The Core is supplied with a hands-free liftgate, remote keyless entry, roof rails, a panoramic sunroof, rear privacy glass, power side mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, fog lights, and 18-inch wheels. Inside, it gets two zones of automatic climate control, a 12-inch digital gauge cluster, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, ambient interior lighting, aluminum décor (including kick plates), and a tailored steering wheel/shift knob. The seating situation is all about comfort: the front seats are heated and power-adjustable, and the driver’s seat comes with position memory settings. As far as technology, the Core receives a Google built-in infotainment system (which bundles Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play Store) with a 9-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, SiriusXM satellite radio, Bluetooth, and a 10-speaker audio system.
Driver Support
There’s no shortage of safety equipment in any Volvo model, so car shoppers won’t be surprised that the ’24 XC60 is well outfitted with the latest driver-assist features. The base-level Core has blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, lane keeping assist with oncoming lane mitigation, and road sign information. The Plus and Ultimate add adaptive cruise control, Pilot Assist, a surround-view camera, and front and side parking sensors.
Packages
Two upgrade packages are available for all three trims. The basic Climate Package contains heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, and headlight cleaners, while the Climate Pro Package adds rear-seat booster cushions. The most noteworthy a la carte options are side running boards and Polestar Engineered powertrain optimization (which enables smoother and more precise handling). The Ultimate alone is eligible for massaging front seats, a deluxe 15-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system, and an active air suspension.
